wpe9.gif (8062 bytes)Ethel Graves was the daughter of Hubert and Ella (nee Schell) Graves.  The Hubert Graves family came to York Township from Calumet County in 1901.  Ethel was a schoolteacher and taught in the Mentor Township for awhile.  Her mother was a younger sister to Lillie Lavey’s mother.   Therefore, Ethel Graves was a first cousin to Lillie Lavey (Glenn Lavey’s mother). Ethel lived with her parents on a farm in Section 15 (later owned by the Hubings) and then later on another farm in Section 21 formerly owned by Albert Turner.[cemeteries/footer_gif.html]
