Francis Marion "F. M." Tuttle Logging

Clark Co., Wisconsin

Francis Marion Tuttle, "F. M.", was a well-known timber contractor who resided in Abbotsford, Clark Co., WI as early as 1872. In this 1885 photo, he is standing in the forefront of a load of logs which he and his crew had cut in the woods on Ice Road on a farm which was later owned by Harold Block. Ice roads were made so these huge loads could be transported by just a two horse team!
