A dance had been held in the Pavilion Saturday night, and Mr. Grassman had left the building about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was unable to account for the outbreak of fire in the building. The flames were not observed until they were beyond control. The loss was estimated at about $2,000. A new gas stove, two beverage coolers, and other fixtures were destroyed with the building. Mr. Grassman said only a small amount of insurance was carried. (Pictures of the Lynn Pavilion prior to the burning - from the Sternitzky Family History .) |
