Notes & Memories

A picture of a treasure chest I constructed of pine and walnut in which to keep a lot of my family treasures.

A button from the uniform of Henry T. Rundle is from the Spanish American War and has the Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin on the button.  These buttons were all tied together on an old piece of cord and given to me by my mother some 20 years ago.

43

Henry T. Rundle fought with Co A, 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish American War. Most of these uniform buttons were made by the Scovill Co., Waterbury, Connecticut according to the back marks on the buttons.

Stewart was born September 18, 1888 at St. Josephs Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and passed April 30, 1960 according to his death certificate.

Stewart held the rank of Wagoner with the HQ. Co. 127th Infantry, 32nd Red Arrow Division during World War I. It was recorded that Stewart was a survivor of the sinking of the U.S.S. The survivors were rescued by many different vessels including fisherman. Little else is known.
