Rowe was a pioneer of York Township who came to Clark County from Sheboygan County circa 1876 with his wife, the former Zelina Lawrence, had been married at Plymouth, Wisconsin on October 13, 1872.[i]  William’s parents, Joseph and Martha Rowe are also buried in York Center Cemetery.  Zelina Rowe was a daughter of Jesse and Almeda (nee Benedict) Lawrence, who were also pioneers of York Township.  William and Zelina’s children include Walter, Ernest, Jesse, and Forest Rowe, who are also interred at York Center Cemetery.  Since Walter Rowe was the father of Verla Dahl/Hales and Milford Rowe, William Rowe was therefore a great-grandfather to Alvin Dahl and Donald Rowe.  The William Rowe farm was located in Section 21 and was later owned by Ed Voight.
