Sheffer, Fannie I. (26 January 1883 - 1983)

Mrs. Fannie I. Sheffer, who turned 100 on January 26, died in Black River Memorial Hospital on Saturday June 18. She was a longtime Humbird citizen.

The deceased was born on January 26, 1883, in Sparta. On February 25, 1910, she married John Sheffer in Sparta ceremonies. They lived in La Crosse for some time, where he was a fireman. They moved to Humbird in 1941.

Following her husband’s death, Mrs. Sheffer lived with her son, Walter, in Humbird for three years. She then moved to the Family Heritage Nursing Home in Black River Falls.

Surviving her, besides her son, is a daughter, Mrs. Tony (Lucille) Cairelli, San Antonio, Texas; a stepson, Goodwin Sheffer, Nokomis, Florida, 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 22, from the Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton with Walter Jenswold officiating. Burial was made in the Angelo Cemetery near Sparta.
