Ramaker, Karen Jo (1 May 1976)

The Rev. T. York, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Wausau, performed the 3 p.m. ceremony May 1, 1976, when Karen Jo Ramaker and Phillips T. Werner repeated their wedding vows.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ramaker, Edgar, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Werner, Route 1, Dorchester.

Music for the wedding ceremony was performed by Sterling Anderson, organist, and Mrs. Loretta Anderson, Soloist. Her songs were “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Wedding Prayer.”

For her wedding, the bride chose a gown of white chiffon designed by William Cahill. The dress featured a low neckline, empire waist and full bishop sleeves. The bodice of the gown and the sleeves were trimmed with three dimensional re-embroidered lace and silk Venice lace.

Her fingertip length veil was attached to a Juliet cap of matching lace. Lace also bordered the veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of Tahiti colored carnations, daisies and baby’s breath.

Mrs. Peggy Benzinger, Merrill, was the matron of honor. Attendants were Mrs. Barbara Ramaker, Santa Monica, California, a sister-in-law of the bride, Mrs. May Weiderhoeft, Tecumseh, a cousin of the bride, Mrs. Judy Lenzner, and Linda Thiel, Wausau.

The attendants wore empire styled gowns of Tahiti pink polyester knit. Flowing angel sleeves accented the dresses. They carried Colonial bouquets of Tahiti tipped daisies and baby’s breath.

Lloyd Guth, Hoffman Estates, Illinois, attended his cousin as best man. Groomsmen were Jerry Benzinger, Merrill, Joseph Werner, Schofield, a brother of the bridegroom, Tom Ramaker, Edgar, brother of the bride, Jay Ramaker, Santa Monica, California, and Jerry Werner, Wurtsmith, Michigan, a brother of the bridegroom.

Charles Oldenburg, Jr., Wausau, cousin of the bride, and James Sauer, Medford, cousin of the bridegroom, seated the guests.

Following the wedding, a reception and dinner for 200 was held at the Pinewood Supper Club, Mosinee.

The bridegroom is a 1969 graduate of Colby High School, and a 1972 graduate of North Central Technical Institute, Wausau, with an associate degree in business and marketing. He is employed at A & P, Wausau.

The bride graduated in 1969 from Edgar High School, and in 1972 from the State College of Beauty Culture. She is a hair stylist at Fashion Villa, Wausau.

Following a wedding trip to Florida, the couple will be at home May 15 at 124 ½ Fleming Street, Wausau.
