Meihack, Sarah E. (7 April 1897 – 29 May 1983)

Sarah E. Meihack, 86, a longtime Town of Pine Valley housewife, passed away on Sunday morning, May 29, in Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born in the Town of Weston on April 7, 18976, to Carl and Augusta (Reetz) Wetzel. She received her education at St. John’s Parochial School in Neillsville. After her education, she lived with her parents and took care of her mother and did housework in the area.

On September 12, 1923, she married George F. Meihack in Glendive, Montana, ceremonies. The couple made their home in the Town of Pine Valley the rest of their lives. She was a member of St. John’s congregation and its Ladies Aid.

Surviving her is a daughter, Ruby Meihak, of Neillsville and who is Clark County Treasurer; two sons, Ronald of Neillsville and Marvin of New Ulm, Minnesota, a brother, Otto Wetzel, Neillsville and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (December 25, 1970); two sons in infancy, three sisters, Ida, Minnie and Marie, and four brothers, Emil, Willie, August and Gust.
