Matthias, Adolph L. (20 Feb 1893 – Mar 1976)

Funeral services were held Monday at the Hemer Funeral Home at Medford for Adolph L. Matthias, the Rev. Jerome Newton officiating.

Mr. Matthias, age 83, died at the Taylor County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks.

He was born at Curtiss, February 20, 1893, and attended school there. He farmed in the Curtiss area until 1934, when he moved to Taylor County, where he operated the Richters Lake Resort. Later he farmed in that area. His marriage to Leona Thorson took place in 1932. She survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Louis, rural Withee, four grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and a brother, Alfred Matthias of Spokane, Washington.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, two brothers, Emil and Frank, and by a sister, Mrs. Ann Meyers.
