Ebben, Clifford (28 August 1927 - 28 October 1983)

THORP -- Services for Clifford F. Ebben, 56, Thorp who died Friday morning at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, were at noon today at St. Bernard-Hedwig Catholic Church, Thorp.

The Rev. John W. Puerner, officiated. Burial followed in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

He was born August 28, 1927, to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey (Clara Herman) Ebben. He grew up in Thorp and served with the U.S. Air Force for two years. He lived for a short time in Augusta where he was a partner in Century Cleaners. He returned to Thorp where he owned and operated Cliff's Cleaners for 29 years. He was an aide at Clark County Health Care Center.

He married Katherine Slowiak September 4, 1948 at St. Mary Czestochwa; she survives. A member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion and a retired member of the Thorp Fire Department and Thorp Businessmen's Association, Mr. Ebben is also survived by four daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Deborah) Seeger of Racine, Mrs. Daniel (Jane) Kramer of Kenosha, Mrs. Joel (Nancy) Cance of Green Bay and Mrs. Dennis (Pamela) Berdal of Wausau; five grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard of Edgar, Clayborne of Thorp and Ronald of Wausau; and two sisters, Rosann Sneen of Eau Claire and Carol Boie of Thorp.
