Becky Day, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Day of Spencer, was awarded the Girl
Scout Gold Award at the Birch Trails Council annual meeting Thursday night.
The Gold Award is the highest award a girl can earn in Girl Scouting, Becky is
the council's first recipient. The award requires significant responsibility in
expressing a special commitment to oneself, the community, the world and the
future.
