Horning, Marilyn (7 October 1970 – 1 February 2023)

Marilyn Weaver Horning, age 52 years, of Thorp, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her residence.

Marilyn was born on October 7, 1970, the daughter of Abram M. and Irene M. (Martin) Weaver in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was united in marriage to Alvin Z. Horning on March 9, 1991, in Newville, Pennsylvania. Marilyn was a member of the Scenic Grove Mennonite Church, Meadow Springs Conference.

Marilyn is survived by her husband: Alvin Z. Horning of Thorp, parents: Abram and Irene Weaver, seven daughters: Brenda Horning, Janice Horning, and Joanne Horning of Colby, Rosanne (Eric) Brubacker of Curtiss, Sarah (Timothy) Brubacker of Colby, Dorothy and Elizabeth Horning at home, four sons: John Michael (Yolanda) Horning of Dorchester, Calvin (Rosene) Horning of Greenwood Gary and Gerald Horning at home and nine grandchildren. Marilyn is further survived by her brothers: Nelson (Mary) Weaver of Newville, PA, Alvin (Pauline) Weaver of Shippensburg, PA, Leon (Karen) Weaver of Newville, PA, Glen (Janet) Weaver of Shippensburg, PA, Curvin (Ruth Ann) Weaver of Myerstown, PA Ivan (Nancy) Weaver of Stetsonville, WI, Dale (Anna Mae) Weaver of Edgar, WI and David (Eunice) Weaver of Stratford, WI and a sister: Gladys Martin of Stratford, WI and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother in law: Ira Lamar Martin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Scenic Grove Mennonite Church (W3046 Riplinger Road) in the Town of Beaver. Eli Weaver, Irvin Showalter, Willard Brubacker, Clair Horst and Kenneth Horst will officiate. Pallbearers will be Enos Martin, Jesse Weaver, Linford Weaver, Darryl Brubacker, Kevin High and Kenneth Weaver. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Marilyn and Alvin Horning residence (W8757 Country Road N) Thorp. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
