Christie, Kelly (11 September 1982)

Kelly Christie of Eau Claire and James Leino of Menomonie were united in marriage in Saturday afternoon, September 11, ceremonies in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Christie, 311 East Second St., Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. John Leino, Washburn.

Julie Karl, a friend of the bride from Neillsville, was matron of honor. Joining her as attendants were June Christie, a sister of the bride from Neillsville; and Diane Christie, the bride’s sister-in-law from Eau Claire.

David Lowe, a friend of the groom from Aurora, Minn., was the bestman. He was joined by Scott Foss, a friend from Mankato, Minn., and Tom Maassen, a friend from Wisconsin Rapids. Ushering were Michael Christie, the bride’s brother of Eau Claire, and Rick Morrisson, a friend of the groom from Washburn.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tess offered special music for the service.

The bride chose a flowing chiffon gown, accented at the bodice and full bishop sleeves with silk Venetian lace. Tiny seed pearls trimmed the bodice and neckline. A chapel-length Watteau train of chiffon from her shoulders. She wore a matching waltz-length illusion veil with a cap trimmed in silk lace. She carried a cascade of silk white carnations, pink and burgundy roses, baby’s breath and multi-hued steamers. Her attendants wore pink luster-glo knit gowns styled with blouson bodices trimmed with Shiflet lace, long sleeves and nigh necklines. They carried round bouquets similar to the bride’s and wore half-moons of pink rosebuds and baby’s breath in their hair. The groom and his attendants were attired in silver-gray tuxedos.

Following the nuptials, a reception was held at Fannie’s Supper Club, Neillsville.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Leino will make their home in Menomonie. She is a 1977 graduate of Neillsville High School and in 1980 from District I Technical Institute-Eau Claire. He is a 1978 graduate of Washburn High School and earned a BS degree in business management in 1900 from UW-Eau Claire. He is employed as an assistant manager for the Clark Station in Menomonie.
