Hedler, ? (27 Sep 1974)

After a wedding trip to the Eastern States, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis James Engel will be making their home at Route 1, Dorchester. The couple was married Saturday, September 17, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, at a 1:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by the Rev. Francis P. Rushman.

The bridal couple is the children of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Hedler, Route 2, Colby and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Engel, Route 1, Dorchester.

For her day the bride chose a traditional style organza gown with full circular chapel train. A ruffled organza collar encircled with Cluny lace and shepherdess sleeves cuffed with Cluny lace were attached to the molded bodice. The A-line skirt had a deep ruffled flounce circled with Cluny lace and edged with Venice braid. Her illusion veil was secured to a crystal and pearl beaded lace cap. The bridal bouquet consisted of white and light blue roses, with baby’s breath and stephanotis, with light blue streamers.

Mrs. James Zenner, Colby, served her sisters as matron of honor. Miss Connie Firnstahl, Wausau, cousin of the bride, Miss Diane Baumgartner, Colby, friend of the bride, and Miss Jaycine Engel, Dorchester, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids.

They were attired in blue formals styled with ruffled cap collars and sleeves. Each carried a long stemmed white rose surrounded with baby’s breath, white ribbons, and streamers.

Best man was Daniel Dums, Mukwonago, and groomsmen were Mike Decker, Dorchester, Tom Peissig, River Falls, and Dave Baumgartner, St. Paul, all friends of the groom. Ushering duties were performed by James Zenner, brother-in-law of the bride, and Steven Etten, Dorchester, cousin of the bridegroom.

A reception, dinner and dance were held at Dorchester Memorial Hall.

The bride is a 1971 graduate of Colby High School, and a 1973 graduate of NCTI, where she majored in secretarial science. She is employed as a bookkeeper and teller at the Abbotsford State Bank.

Her husband is a 1971 graduate of Colby High School, and is employed at Meyer’s Mfg. Inc., at Dorchester.
