Cherie Kunze and Jesse Moennig were united in marriage on the late Saturday
afternoon, September 29, in the Neillsville United Church of Christ. The Rev.
Gary Clark officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kunze,
Neillsville, while the groom’s parents are LaVern Moennig and the late Harold
Moennig.
The bride chose a bouffant, sheer organza gown, trimmed with Chantilly lace and
featuring a Queen Anne neckline and long sleeves. The ruffled flounced skirt was
adorned with a sweeping chapel train. She carried a bouquet of silk, fall roses,
daisies and baby’s breath. The father of the bride presented her to the altar
and her new husband.
Cindy Kunze, La Crosse, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She was joined
by Charlotte Peer of Rice Lake, Cathy Schultz of Wheeling, Ill., and January
Moennig, a sister of the groom, Whitewater. They were attired in fall-colored
gowns of Qiana knit with matching pillbox hats and carried bouquets of fresh
fall-colored mums and baby’s breath.
Douglas Moennig, a brother of the groom from Whitewater, was bestman. He was
joined in the party by Mark Moennig, another brother from Neillsville; Dale
Schultz, Wheeling, Ill., and Chuck Kunze, Neillsville, a brother of the bride.
Ushering were Brad Kunze, Baraboo, and Greg Moennig, Cary, Ill., brothers of the
couple.
“The Lord’s Prayer,” “Just The Way You Are,” “Sunrise, Sunset and “You light Up
My Life,” were the musical offerings dur3ing the service. A reception and dance
was held at the Bali Hai Supper Club.
Prenuptial events included showers hosted by Sandy Mallegni on August 28 and
another on September 8 by Char Peer, Cindy Kunze, Debbie Kunze and Georgene
Kunze.
The bride is a 1977 graduate of Neillsville High School and graduated in 1978
from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute, La Crosse, as a medical assistant.
She is presently employed by the Marshfield Clinic. The groom is a 1974 graduate
of Neillsville High School, is employed by Mallegni’s United Foods, Neillsville.
The couple opted for a wedding trip to Illinois. Their post-honeymoon home will
be at 411 West Fifth St., Neillsville.
