Brown, Flossie E. (15 October 1907-9 August 1957)

Mrs. Howard Brown, 49, 208 W. Fifth St., died unexpectedly Friday at
St. Joseph Hospital, where she underwent surgery last Monday.

Funeral rites have been set for Monday afternoon at Missionay
Alliance Church. The Rev. Robert Gibson will officiate and interment
will be in Hillside cemetery.

Friends may call at Hansen Funeral Home from this evening to noon
Monday, when the body will be taken to the church.

A widow since January 23, 1956, Mrs. Brown had lived in Marshfield
since her marriage May 18, 1946, in Wisconsin Rapids. Her earlier years
were lived in rural Greenwood, where she was born October 15, 1907 (to
Henry and Helma Salzwedel). She obtained her education in Loyal schools.
In Marshfield she was a member of Missionary Alliance Church and its
Missionary Circle.

Surviving are four children, Mrs. Norman (Joyce) Sommers, Eau Claire,
and Mrs. Raymond (Gwen) Prust, Darlene Gerl and Edward Brown,
Marshfield; her mother, Mrs. Helma Salzwedel, Loyal; four sisters and a
brother, Mrs. Lawrence (Elsie) Tessmer, Marshfield, Mrs. Lawrence
(Violet) Mess, Mrs. Walter (Beulah) Johnson and Ira, all of Rhinelander,
and Mrs. James (Ila) Englebretson, Greenwood; and three grandchildren.

Besides her husband, others who preceded her in death were her
father, Henry Salzwedel in 1936, and a brother, Lester, June 11 of this
year.
