Miller, Almira Elizabeth "Bessie" (6 November 1855-27 November 1917)

Mrs. J. W. Merry received a telegram this morning announcing the death
of her mother, Mrs. J. C. (John Charles) Miller, which occurred at her
home at Seattle, Washington, Sunday morning. Death was caused by heart
trouble. Mrs. Miller had been in failing health for the past year. In
November, 1916, she visited at her daughter's home in this city and was
forced to shorten her stay because of poor health, returning to the
west after remaining in Stevens Point three weeks. For a number of years
she had visited in this city and was known by a number of people here.

Mrs. Miller was 62 years old at the time of her death. She formerly
resided at Greenwood, Wisconsin, where her husband was engaged in the
lumber business. Fifteen years ago they located at Seattle. The deceased
lady is survived by her husband, one sister, Miss Hannah Honeywell of
Appleton, Wisconsin and by two sons and three daughters as follows: Lynn
Miller and Smith Miller, both of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. A. A. Ryer,
Mrs. A. J. Alexander and Mrs. J. W. Merry of this city. Her maiden name
was Miss Bessie Honeywell and she was born in Ontario, Canada. The
family later moved to Pennsylvania and there she was married at the age
of 17 years to J. C. Miller. Shortly after their marriage they came to
Wisconsin, locating at once at Greenwood, Which was the home of the
family for 25 years.

The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at Seattle. Mrs. Miller was
an active church worker, being a member of the Methodist church. She was
a woman of splendid Christian character whose untimely death will be
regretted by her many friends in this vicinity as well as by members of
the family.
