Johnson, Barbara Ann (6 DEC 1969)

Barbara Ann Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Johnson of Colby (Clark Co.,Wis.), became the bride of Wayne Barncard, son of Mr. Ruth Barncard of Mercer, Wisconsin, Saturday, December 6, 1969, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. john Olson officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Wilma Waltman of Colby, a friend. Charlene Johnson, sister of the bride; was bridesmaid. Best man at the wedding was Neil Barncard of Mercer, a cousin of the groom. Rand Blodgeth of Marshfield was groomsman.

Guests were ushered by Patrick Johnson of Colby and David Krohn of Mercer.

The bride, who was given away by her father, appeared in a white princes A-line gown of peau de soie trimmed with appliques of lace and seed pearls. Her veil was of English illusion, fastened by a pill box of lace and seed pearls. She carried a cascade of white carnations and red sweetheart roses.

The bride's attendants wore royal blue velvet empire gowns with leg-a-mutton sleeves. They wore headpieces of velvet bows and bouffant veils to match their gowns. They carried bouquets of white carnations and red roses.

A reception followed the wedding at the Colby City Hall, followed by a 5 o'clock dinner at St. Mary's school hall.

The bride, a 1969 graduate of the Colby High School, was employed at Mercer. The groom, who received his education at Mercer, is employed at Simpson Electronics, Lac du Flambeau. The couple will make their home at Mercer.
