Jensen, Gordon “Gordie” J. (4 DEC 1942 - 26 FEB 2019)

Gordon “Gordie” J. Jensen, age 76, of Abbotsford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Reverend Don Bruce will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.

Gordie was born on December 4, 1942, the son of Chris and Beatrice (Mitzlaff) Jensen in the Town of Holton. He graduated from Colby High School in 1960. Gordie was raised on the family farm until it was sold in 1968. He then worked at Liberty Homes in Dorchester as Quality Control Manager for 39 years. On January 7, 1967, Gordie was united in marriage to Barbara Fasse at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan.

Gordie enjoyed playing cards with friends and neighbors, visiting friends at Medo’s for coffee, watching sports including the Packers, Badgers, Bucks, Brewers and Yankees and traveling throughout the world. Gordie enjoyed meeting new people and living life to the fullest. Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his family.

Gordie is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Barb; two daughters: Brenda Zahradka of Marshfield and Cari Jensen of Wausau; and two grandsons, Derek (fiancee’, Sara) and Shane Zahradka. He is further survived by three sisters: Arlene (Ray) Barts of Abbotsford, Lois Jensen of Colby and Karen Weigel of Sheboygan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sylvia Staley and Birdelle Jensen; one brother, Marvin and three nephews, Duran Barts, James Brown and Randy Anderson.
