Plan Rites Monday For George Fisher
Pioneer Resident of Sherman Township Dies of Heart Trouble


Spencer--Funeral services will be conducted at the Swarthout funeral
home here Monday for George Fisher, Sr., 77, who died at the home of his
son, George, Jr., 10 miles southwest of here, on Thursday.

The pioneer town of Sherman resident died Thursday as a result of a
heart ailment. Rites will also be conducted at the Methodist Episcopal
church here Monday, the Rev. George Carver officiating, and burial will
take place in the Spencer cemetery.

Mr. Fisher was born in Sheboygan on October 28, 1859, and had been a
resident of the Spencer vicinity for nearly 60 years, having come to the
town of Sherman when he was 18. He was married to Miss Fredericka
Staehle in 1883. She died on February 15, 1924 , in Spencer, where the
couple lived for a time.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Carpenter,
Oakland, California, and Mrs. Lena Lucht, Marshfield; six sons, George,
Henry, William and Frank, Spencer; Charles, Rib Lake, and Herman,
Dorchester; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Trettschel, Mrs. Mary
Littlefield, and Mrs. Lena Brickbauer, Plymouth; one brother Gottlieb
Fisher, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and 23 grandchildren.
