Stasek, Paul E. (11 AUG 1914 – 24 MAR 1974)

Funeral services for Paul E. Stasek Sr. were held on Thursday morning, March 28, 1974 at 11 o'clock from St. Katherine's Episcopal Church, Owen. He had suffered an apparent heart attack on Sunday, March 24, about one o'clock after a good morning attending the nine o'clock church services, walking to the drug store for his Sunday paper, and eating dinner. About three years ago Paul underwent open heart surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield, with an amazing good recovery. He continued to work with the Hammessley Road Construction Company out of Madison, and for the past three years, except for the winter months, had been supervisor for the company, driving back and forth weekly, Mondays and Fridays. Only recently had he not been feeling too strong, and upon examination with his doctors, had been advised to stop working and to rest more, which were now his plans.

Masonic services were conducted on Wednesday, March 27 from the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Allen Horban(?), John Stock, Clarence Shopfer, Herb Stock, Lynn Nelson and Roy Henderson.

Interment was made at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Mr. Stasek was born August 11, 1914, in the town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), and was married February 9, 1932 at Waukegan Illinois, to the former Dorothy Roohr, who survives him.

From 1951 to 1953, he worked for Growe Construction Company, building the Thale Air Force Base at Greenland. He then worked 12 years for the Peterson Construction Company at Medford, and since 1967 he held the capacity of general superintendent for the Hammessley Road Construction Company of Madison.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul Jr., Owen, and Ronald, Withee; two daughter, Mrs. Milford (Shirley) Ewert, Owen, and Mrs. Gaymond Laabs, Shawano; three sisters, Mrs. Albe Hamm, Owen, Mrs. Helen Gripentrog, Abbotsford, and Mrs. Michael (Rose) Tomczak, Grafton; and five grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Katherine's Episcopal Church at Owen, the Owen Masonic Lodge F & A.M> No. 317, Eau Claire Consistory of Scottish Rite, and was a Shriner of the Zoe Temple at Madison.

Those who attended Paul Stasek's funeral from out of town were Mr. ( the rest of my copy was cut off)
