Stroming, Carol Jean (O’Brien) Kollmansberger (23 MAR 1951 - 10 FEB 2019)

Carol Jean Stroming, age 67, passed away on Sunday Feb. 10, 2019 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease at the Home Place in Dorchester, with her loving family at her side.

A visitation will be held at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford on February 14, 2019 from 5 p.m – 7 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Carol Jean was born on March 23, 1951 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield to Sylvester and Helen O’Brien. She joined two sisters and a brother. They later moved to Owen, where Carol graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1969. Following high school, Carol was employed at Marshfield Door Company in Marshfield.

Carol was united in marriage to Leslie Kollmansberger on June 5th, 1971, in Neillsville WI. They owned and operated two dairy farms, the first was in the Town of Reseburg and the second farm was in the Town of Green Grove, rural Owen. Later they owned and operated two taverns, first The Dugout Bar in Colby, followed by the K-Corners Bar in rural Unity. Leslie passed away on June 12, 1986.

Carol then became a restaurant cook and was employed in two separate restaurants. Carol was united in marriage to Raymond Stroming on June 3, 1989 at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Carol continued her cooking career. On August 14, 1990, her son Justin was born. Raymond passed away on Nov. 7, 1991. Carol remained a member in the aforementioned church. Carol was also a member on the Abbotsford Lions.

Carol enjoyed raising her son Justin, traveling, visiting her family, taking her son to water parks, and playing miniature golf. Carol had so many friends because of owning two bars and supporting pool and dart teams.

Carol is survived by her son: Justin of Marshfield; one sister: Dorothy Schultze of rural Thorp; one brother: George O’Brien of Colby; a granddaughter: Halyn of Marshfield; and many stepchildren, nieces and nephews.

Carol will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
