Severson, Joan Christine (1 DEC 1973)

Miss Joan Christine Severson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Severson of Eau Claire, became the bride of John Robert Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Wood of Eau Claire, on Saturday, December 1, 1973, at the First Congregational Church in Eau Claire. The 6:30 p.m. candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Marlyn Close.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Sue Kawell, with bridesmaids being Sandy Mattison and Kathryn Schoettl.

Guy Wood, brother of the groom, was best man, with Dan O'Connell and Rich Herman as groomsmen.

Jim Barnes, Jim Clark, Ron Peterson and Mark wood ushered.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Hillcrest Country Club for over 250 guests, with a buffet supper and evening of dancing.

The wedding trip took the newlyweds to Dillon Colorado to ski, and they are now at home in Eau Claire.

The bride is employed in an Eau Claire bank as secretary, and the groom is a partner of the Wood Motor Company with his father, C.M. Wood, and uncle Frank Wood. His mother is a former Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, Alberta Barager Wood.
