Richard Williams (21 Dec 1916 - 16 Aug 2003)
Richard M. Williams, 86, of Medford, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at the Clark
County Health Care Center, Owen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in
Medford. Burial will be in Medford Evergreen cemetery II, where graveside
military rites will be held.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Hemer Funeral Home in
Medford, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church.
Richard was born Dec. 21, 1916, in the town of Hoard, Clark County. He was
married to Bernadine G. Peche on June 2, 1942, in Stetsonville. She preceded him
in death on Jan. 21, 1996.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1940, serving in five major battle campaigns as a
technical sergeant in supply. He was discharged in 1945, then returned to
Medford where he worked for Paulson Construction. He began Williams Construction
in 1963 and also co-owned the Hardees restaurant in Medford with his son and
daughter-in-law. He retired in 1980.
He is survived by two sons, Ron Williams and Allen (Mary) Williams, all of
Medford; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred
Olson of Abbotsford and Myrtle (Rudy) Kubica of Grayslake, Ill.
