Arthur C. Paul (29 Nov 1915 - 31 Aug 2000)

Arthur C. Paul, 84 of the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday at the health center where he had resided for the past five years.

The funeral will take place at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. The Rev. Thomas Myhre will officiate. Cremainal interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Withee.

Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday until service time at the Hemer Funeral Home.

Arthur Paul was born Nov. 29, 1915 in the town of Hoard in Clark County. He attended the Town of Hoard School and the Curtiss School.

In his early years, Mr. Paul farmed on the home farm in the town of Hoard. He later was employed as a truck driver for his brothers, Otto and Ray, who owned Paul Bros. Trucking. Arthur and his brother Wilmer farmed together for a time in the town of Hoard. He later worked in logging in Rusk County. In the early 1960s, Arthur began employment with Packaging Corporation of America in Colby as maintenance man and watchman.

Arthur retired in the early 1980s to a home in the town of Green Grove in Clark County. He enjoyed building and selling logging sleds in retirement. He entered Clark County Health Care Center in 1995.

Arthur was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Withee.

He is survived by his sister; Lila Edwards of Medford; two brothers: Ray Paul of King and Wilmer (Alice) Paul of Curtiss; a niece: Linda (Gene) Schmidt of Wausau; two nephews: Keith (Judy) Paul of Appleton and Merlin (Mary) Paul of Bartow, W. Va.

He is preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
