Victor Gosse (17 Aug 1922 - 4 Feb 2001) 

Victor Gosse, 78, Dorchester; died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehab Center, Chippewa Falls.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Holway. The Rev. Robert Everhard presided.

Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home and again on Wednesday until time of services.  A Veterans of Foreign Wars memorial service was held Tuesday night at the funeral home.

Mr. Gosse was born Aug. 17, 1922 in the town of Colby to Henry and Doris (Lindau) Gosse. He received his education at Sandhill School, town of Colby.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII.

He married Bernice Ackerman April 8, 1944 in Owen. She survives. He worked as a cheesemaker for Cloverhill Co-op, Curtiss, Harold Kasper Cheese Factory, Unity, and at Kraft Cheese Factory, Milan.  He was a member of Colby VFW Post 2227 and AARP.

Survivors besides his wife include one son, Ronald (Elaine) Gosse, Abbotsford; one daughter, Kay (Ronnie) Cerven, Thorp; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Deliah Hamel, Withee and Ione Bahr, Milwaukee; and one brother, Sam Gosse, Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
