Marian Jane Cheney (2 Jul 1948 - 17 Sep 2000)
Marian Jane Cheney, 52, Colby, died at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, after a battle with cancer.
Funeral services for Marian will be on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Sister Mary Jo Donaldson, OSB, will preside and inurnment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Milan.
Visitation will be at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.
The former Marian Jane Potts was born on July 2, 1948, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Kralcik) Potts, in Wausau. She was a 1966 graduate of Colby High School.
Marian and Wayne Cheney were united in marriage on Dec. 19, 1986, in Neillsville.
A homemaker, Marian worked at Badger Basket in Edgar and Grahm Manufacturing in Marshfield. Having become disabled with health problems, she then cared for her great-niece, Nicole Johnson. Marian also enjoyed camping, fishing and the outdoor life with her family. She also crocheted afghans.
She will be missed by her many friends and family including her husband, Wayne Cheney, Colby; five step-children: Michael Cheney, Boston, Mass., Robin (Michael) Edwards, New Bedford, Mass., Julie Cheney, Onset, Mass., Thomas Cheney, East Wareham, Mass., and Tara Cheney, Bourne, Mass.; six step-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene (Delbert) Knoll, Abbostford; one sister-in-law, Madelaine La Blanc, Plainville, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents.
