George F. Kadonsky Sr. (9 Dec 1915 – 25 Feb 2006)

George F. Kadonsky Sr., 90, Abbotsford, died Saturday, Feb. 25 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.  Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 27 at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, with Father Paul Gitter officiating.  Burial was at Abbotsford Public Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Jerry Rankl, Gordon Anderson, Jim Heindl, Guy Rankl, Jerry Schultz, Jim Bragg and David Lueddecke.

George Kadonsky was born December 9, 1915 in the Town of Holton, Marathon County.

He married Elizabeth “Betty” Kalson, who survives, in 1949 and they resided on the family’s recognized century farm until recent illness.

He was a member of the Pickard School and Colby Public School Boards for over 30 years, and town clerk and town assessor.  E was a 4-H leader, a member of the Stetsonville Farmers State Bank board and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, and a volunteer in many other civic boards and activities.  He enjoyed reading.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Jerry) Brecke of Dorchester and Angela Crawford of California; three sons, George Jr. (Barb) of Altoona, William (Lori) of Texas and Steve of New Jersey; and 12 grandchildren.

The family asks memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
