Nelson, Margaret S. (Stock) (17 FEB 1927 - 12 JAN 2019)

Margaret S. Nelson, 91, of Medford, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Care Partners, surrounded by family, under the care of Hope Hospice.

Margaret was born on February 17, 1927 to Nichilos and Helen (Stasek) Stock in Chicago, IL. She married Lynn Nelson on August 31, 1946 in Chicago. Lynn preceded Margret in death on December 25, 2006.

Margaret worked at a CNA at Memorial Hospital for 22 years. She was also a long time member of Community United Church of Christ.

In her spare time Margaret enjoyed walking on the treadmill, eating healthy, staying physically fit, and spending time with family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her children, Paul (Judith) Nelson of Watersmeet, MI, Linda Deml of Clintonville, Bruce Nelson of Milwaukee, Craig (Cathy) Nelson of Westminster, CA, David (Barbara) Nelson of London, KY, James (Karen) Nelson of Medford, and Brian (Shelley) Nelson of Abbotsford; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sister, June Loertscher of Janesville and brother Nicholas Stock of California. Margaret is further survived by many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret is preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Lange.

A memorial service for Margaret will take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel, with Pastor Mary Jo Laabs officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.

Memorial donation is Margaret’s name may be given to either Hope Hospice or Community United Church of Christ.

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with arrangements.
