Voigt, Elizabeth (1 Mar 1890 – 14 Jun 1974)

Mrs. Elizabeth Voigt, 84, of the Town of Sherman (Clark Co., Wis.), died suddenly Friday, June 14, 1974, at home on the family farm.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Officiating was the Rev. William Humlie, pastor, and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Rinka Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Voigt (Lucht) was born March 1, 1890, in Athens, Town of Johnson.

Mrs. Voigt received her education at Spokeville (Clark Co., Wis.) Her marriage to Gustave Voigt took place September 28, 1911 at Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death February 17, 1968. The couple’s Golden Wedding was celebrated in 1961. Mrs. Voigt worked with her husband for several years at the Spokeville Cheese Factory, which he owned, and at various other cheese factories in the area from 1911 – 1931. From 1931 until their retirement they were engaged in farming in the Town of Sherman, Clark County.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Survivors include two sons, James, Rt. 1, Loyal; Allen, Neillsville; one daughter, Mrs. Otto (Sophie) Klemme, Florida; one brother, Art Lucht, Rt. 2, Spencer; three sisters, Mrs. Alvina (Alfred) Oestreich, deceased; Mrs. Theresa (William) Fisher, Spencer, and Mrs. Martha (Edward) Zuelke, Theinville.

Pallbearers were Gordon Randt, Dale Lindekugel, Donald Bugar, James O’Brien, Raymond LaBarge, and Delmer Capelle. The organist was Ronald Gluch and singers were Mrs. Verland and Mrs. Erwin Dux, who sang “Old Rugged Cross.”
