Linda (Helmke) Zander, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 25, 2018, surrounded by family.

Linda was born in Wisconsin Rapids on Sep. 29, 1947, the daughter of Lorraine (Hansen) Helmke. She graduated from Middleton High School in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Reisdorf, on November 7, 1970 and he preceded Linda in death after a tragic car accident. Years later, she married Walter Zander on February 26, 1982.

Linda was a beautiful, kind, loving and generous wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She had love for dancing and spending quality time with her family. Playing with her grandchildren always put a sparkle in her eyes.

Linda is survived by her husband of 36 years, Walter of Reedsburg; three children, Nicole (Mike) Lisle of Verona; Schott Reisdorf of Medford; and Amanda Zander of Ft. Worth, TX; three grandchildren, Andrew and Brooke Lisle of Verona; and Myla Reisdorf of Medford; siblings Joan (David) Grosse of Waunakee, Joel (Karen) Helmke of Waunakee, Ed (Sheila) Helmke of Cross Plains and Gerry Helmke of Madison; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Ralph.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, at 7337 Hubbard Avenue in Middleton. Visitation with family was held on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 1-4 p.m. at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Flowers are welcome as a beautiful symbol of love and support or memorials may be made in Linda’s memory to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
