Kotcon, Felix Donald (4 February 1925 – 9 November 2018)

Felix Kotcon, age 93, of Neillsville, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Felix Donald Kotcon was born on February 4, 1925 in Willard, the son of Michael and Mary (Dyha) Kotcon. He attended North Mound School and then left school to help on the family farm. In 1951, Felix purchased their current farm in the Town of York. On August 12, 1952 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Roselyn D. Stiemke. They spent 62 wonderful years together farming and raising their family in the Town of York. Roselyn died on January 2, 2015, but Felix continued to farm until an illness forced him to retire at the age of 91 in September of 2016.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Neillsville. He was a 3rd degree member of the Neillsville, Loyal and Greenwood Knights of Columbus, and he was a former school board member of the Happy Hollow School. When he wasn’t working on the farm, Felix enjoyed square dancing, especially at the Silver Dome Ballroom, and doing a little travelling with his wife, Roselyn.

He is survived by four children: Donald Kotcon of Neillsville, James (Candice) Kotcon of Morgantown, WV, Susan (Michael) Poziombke of Neillsville and Dennis Kotcon of Hayward; five grandchildren: Sarah (Eli) Melnick-Rogers, Rebekah Kotcon, Courtney (Adam) Ewoldt, Caleb (Jenna) Poziombke and Cana (Travis) Leffert; four great grandchildren: Kailey Ewoldt, Allyson Ewoldt, Charlee Poziombke and Lily Poziombke, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roselyn and eight siblings, Bernice Boh, Frances Copack, Mary Farenzena, Helen Gregorich, Victor Kotcon, Vincent Kotcon, Wanda Kotcon and Walter Kotcon.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Felix will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be Rev. Varkey V. Joseph. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
