Mr. and Mrs. John Rutan of rural Dorchester announce the birth of a son, Monday, August 4, 1969. He weighed seven pounds, fourteen ounces, and was named Michael William. The Rutans also have a daughter, Carla.

The children's grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ira Nehrlich and Mrs. Florence Baxter, route 1, Dorchester, and George Rutan, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The paternal great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Rutan Sr. of Fort Meyers, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. John Hemminger of Owen. Two maternal great-grandmothers are Mrs. Margaret Nehrlich of Abbotsford and Mrs. Nora Arkan of Bloomington, Illinois.
