Tlusty, LeRoy E. (11 JUN 1935 - 7 OCT 2018)

LeRoy E. Tlusty, 83, of Madison, a former Town of Chelsea resident, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison where he had been a patient for the past 1 week surrounded by his children.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, October 12 at OLPH Catholic Church, W5409 Whittlesey Ave., Medford, with Father Phil Juza officiating. Interment will take place at OLPH Catholic Cemetery, Township of Chelsea.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren – Tristan Douglas, LeRoy Tlusty, Joshua & Myles Oliver, Heather & Cameron Heiser.

Visitation will take place at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4-9 PM on Thursday, October 11 where there will be a 7 PM Catholic rosary service held that evening; also at the church in Whittlesey from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, October 12.

LeRoy was born on June 11, 1935 in Rib Lake, WI, to Ernest P. and Elizabeth M. (Pinsch) Tlusty. He attended Town of Chelsea elementary schools and was a graduate of Medford High School.

His first marriage was to Katherine J. Spieles, and they were later divorced. His second marriage was to Barbara Helmbrecht, and they were later divorced.

After his education, he worked the pipeline while residing in various locations across the country. For 20 years, he worked maintenance at JC Penney’s, followed by similar roles at Harlan Sprague Dawley and the UW Hospital his retirement. After retirement, he resided in both the Portage & Madison areas. He enjoyed flower gardening, feeding the birds, fishing, hunting, bingo and puzzles.

LeRoy is survived by his children, Sandy (Sean) Heiser of Edgerton, Shirley (Paul Talboom) Oliver of Watertown, Jeff Tlusty of Madison & Sherry (Brad) Douglas of Portage; 10 Grandchildren, Joshua, Kymm, Myles, Heather, Jasmine, Cameron, Tristan, Robert, LeRoy, Brandy; and 13 great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ernest P. and Elizabeth M. (Pinsch) Tlusty; step-father Theodore Molitor; children Annette Tlusty; Grandchildren: Trevor & Lucas (in infancy); and sister, Elizabeth Tlusty in infancy.
