Broeren, Elsie (18 FEB 1893 – 27 NOV 1971)

Funeral services were held for Elsie Broeren, 78, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Thorp, Saturday, November 27, 1971, who passed away November 24 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley. Reverend Robert Olson officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service,w ith burial being made in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Pallbearers were: Eric Hanson, David Rubisch, Robert Rubisch, Walter Baldeschwiler, Bud Bishop, Harland Schultz.

Elsie Schwartz, daughter of John and Cora Schwartz, was born February 18, 1892 at Waukesha, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Frank M. Broeren June 10, 1920 at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). They farmed near Lone Oak and then lived near Thorp or in Thorp the rest of her life.

Surviving are three daughters, (Dorothy) Mrs. Leslie Hanson, Baraboo, (Lou) Mrs. Ivan Olson of Marietta, Georgia, Mrs. Ardis Rubisch, Thorp; seven grandsons and one granddaughter; and one sister, (Mabel) Mrs. John Sievert, Bellingham, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, John.
