Sergeant David R. Zakrzewicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene F. Zakrzewicz, route 2, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), recently completed the nine-week officer candidate reserve course at Fort Benning, Georgia.

During the course, Sgt. Zakrzewicz received instruction in the duties of a platoon leader. His training included information on nuclear warfare, communications, vehicles, map reading and leadership.

Sgt. Zakrzewicz has since returned to his home unit, the 724th Engineer Battalion, Medford, where he is eligible to apply for a commission as a second lieutenant.
