Meyer, Elmer F. (14 OCT 1893 – 18 JUL 1971)

Elmer F. Meyer, 77, of 317 Wadsworth Street, Traverse City, Michigan, died Sunday morning, July 18, 1971 at Osteopathic Hospital following a sudden illness. Born October 14, 1893 at School Hill, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer. He farmed in Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin until moving to the Grand Traverse area in 1962, where he has since resided.

He married Edna Hartwig, whose death occurred in 1953. On April 21, 1962 he was married to Susie Petrafka in Traverse City. He was affiliated with St. Michael's Lutheran Church.

Surviving, besides his widow, are two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Austin of East Troy, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Hulda Turenne of Harvard, Illinois; one brother, Arthur Meyer of Stanley, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, July 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Schudlich officiating.

Burial was made at Oakwood Cemetery.
