Reynolds, Elaine M. (Sommer) (7 DEC 1933 - 1 SEP 2018)

Elaine M. Reynolds, age 84 of Dorchester, passed away on Saturday September 1, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Saint Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. The Rev. Shawn Andersen will officiate. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is entrusted with the arrangements.

Elaine was born on December 7, 1933, the daughter of Carl and Frieda (Mesalk) Sommer in Unity, WI. She attended Pleasant Hill Grade School, Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Colby High School. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. On June 30, 1951, Elaine was united in marriage to Thomas J. Reynolds at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby, WI, moving to Dorchester.

Elaine worked at Neal Smith Furniture Factory in Dorchester and Marathon Cheese in Medford. Mostly she was a house wife and an excellent seamstress.

Elaine was an active member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church and a former member of the Ladies' Aide and Altar Guild. She enjoyed camping, and was also a member of the Midnight Riders Snowmobile Club.

Elaine is survived by her husband: Thomas Reynolds, three children: Clark (Suzie) Reynolds of Colby, Cindy (Chris) Christophersen of Dorchester and Cheryl Reinke of Medford, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother: Marvin Sommer of Unity; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law: Jeanette Sommer.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be designated to Saint Peter Lutheran Church Dorchester.
