Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 from the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, for Mrs. John (Helen) Fahey, 74, of Stanley, a Loyal native who died April 21 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. The Rev. Alexander Fraser will officiate, and burial will follow in the Loyal Cemetery.

The body was to be in state at the funeral home beginning Wednesday afternoon and until time of services. Eastern Star services were to be conducted Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Helen Fahey, daughter of the late Frank and Julia Shupe, was born January 10, 1901, in Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School in 1918. She attended Appleton Business College for one year, worked at the Citizens State Bank in Loyal one year, and was employed at the Ticus General Store in Loyal until 1928 when she was married.

Her marriage to John Fahey took place August 21, 1928, in Greenwood. After their marriage the couple lived in Owen for four years, then moved to Stanley where they have since resided.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include four sisters: Mrs. Jesse (Vivian) Raab and Mrs. Lawrence (Nettie) Davel of Loyal, and Mrs. H. R. (Ione) Baird and Mrs. W. A. (Elsie) Ziemendorf of Greenwood; and two brothers: Glen Shupe of Spencer and John Schupe of Berlin.

Mrs. Fahey was a member of Stanley OES Chapter No. 138 and of its Past Worthy Matrons Society, having served as worthy matron in 1946. She was also a member of the Grey Ladies organization of Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, and a member of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, Owen.
