In a 7 o'clock candlelight ceremony Saturday evening, June 17, 1972, June Karen Wood, daughter of Joseph Wood, became the bride of Gary Lynn Hamm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamm, all of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), route 1. Rev. Albert G. Stroh performed the double ring ceremony in First Baptist Church, Medford.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a floor length empire styled gown of imported organza, fashioned with bishop sleeves and a mandarin neckline. Chantilly lace embellished the A-line silhouette and sweeping chapel train. Her bouffant veil of sheer illusion was caught to a face framing profile of lace petals. She carried a basket of red and yellow roses with daisies and lilies of the valley.

For her wedding the bride chose her cousin, Mrs. Carl Hansen Jr., Gallup, New Mexico, as her matron of honor, and the groom's sister, Miss Donna Hamm, Curtiss, as bridesmaid.

They wore blue and pink floor length empire styled gowns of chiffon over taffeta, skirts with white bishop sleeves and princess necklines. Each held a basket of white daisies and pink and blue pompons.

Arlan Hamm, Curtiss, attended his brother as best man, and severing with him was George Hansen, Medford, the bride's cousin. Ushering duties were shared by Duane Schmidt, Eleva, and Glenn Weitzman, Eau Claire.

The wedding reception for 220 guests took place at the Colby Hotel.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will make their home at Route 1, Curtiss.

Mrs. Hamm, who was graduated from Medford High School, and the Taylor County Teacher college, Medford, is employed as a teacher in the Medford area public school system. Her husband, a Dorchester High School graduate, is employed in dairy farming.
