Tennessen Charles H. "Chuck" (14 AUG 1936 - 25 MAY 2018)

Charles H. "Chuck" Tennessen died on Friday, May 25, 2018.

Chuck was born in Ladysmith on Aug. 14, 1936 to Herman and Theresa (Arts) Tennessen. He was a true middle child with three older brothers and three younger sisters. He was a graduate of Ladysmith High School and received degrees from Garden City Junior College, Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, Mo. and Southwestern University in Weatherford, Okla.

His friends in Oklahoma knew him as “Doc” for his years spent as a chiropractor. Upon leaving that field he became a teacher of biology and kinesiology and athletic trainer. His pleasing personality and extensive knowledge garnered him several awards including Teacher of the Year at Hobart, Okla., Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Hall of Fame and the Altus High School training facility was dedicated in his name in Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Corasue; his brothers, Joe (Joan) and Bob (Susan); his sisters, Mary (Norb) Gansen and Juliana; his daughters, Tracy (Mike) Coletti and Ginny (Rodney) Calhoun; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alana French; his parents; his brother, Raymond and his sister Ann Marie Mosicki.

He was a man of joy, kindness and wonderful stories. He had tremendous love for his family and his faith.

A member of The First Baptist Church, his beautiful singing voice led the choir. His legacy will live on in his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews and all who were blessed with his friendship.

Services have been held in Frederick, Okla.
