Olson, Duane A. “Ole” (10 March 1937 – 20 February 2018) With Flag

Duane “Ole” Olson, 80, passed away Feb. 20, 2018, at Aurora Hospital. Duane was born March 10, 1937, in Black River Falls, WI. The son of Clarence and Gladys (Flood) Olson. He attended schools in Humbird, Alma Center and Milwaukee. Duane served in both the U. S. Marines and the Army.

He married the former Grace (Loppnow) at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Aug. 24, 1958. He was employed by The Prudential, retiring after 30 years. After retiring, he and Grace enjoyed traveling in their RV across the country and Mexico. Duane enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, gardening and was an avid bird watcher. He enjoyed selling flowers for Ebert’s Greenhouse Village, going to markets in Madison, Milwaukee and West Allis. He was a 40-year member in the Ixonia Lion’s Club.

Duane is survived, by his loving wife, Grace; his daughter, Tammy Frazier; his son, Doug; four grandsons: Zack, Ian (Cara), Brandon and Devyn, one great-grandson Logan; and step-family Doug and Arsha Fine and sons: Oliver and Evon of Hawaii. Duane is further survived, by two brothers: Dale “Mickey” of Black River Falls and Don (Martha) of Longview, TX; four sisters-in-law: Florence Kroll and Jane Ebert of Oconomowoc, Beatrice Loppnow of Watertown and Joy Jenkins of Florida; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded om death by his parents, a sister June, sister-in-law Agatha “Gay” and brothers-in-law John, Robert and Fred Loppnow.

Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 E. Pleasant St., Oconomowoc. Memorials to the church or the donor’s choice are appreciated.
