Rothamer, Mildred H. “Millie” (Frahmann) (27 SEP 1927 - 20 APR 2018)

Mildred H. “Millie” Rothamer, 90, of Janesville, died peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Huntington Place.

Millie was born in the town of Little Black on Sept. 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth (Krug) Frahmann. She graduated from Medford High School in 1946 and later married Melvin O. Rothamer at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford on July 30, 1946. He predeceased her in death on May 6, 2012.

Over the years, Millie has worked at McArthur Mink Farm in Illinois, Hough Shade, crossing guard for the City of Janesville and the Wisconsin School for the Visually Impaired. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. Her proudest and happiest moments were being a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Millie was a woman of strong faith and character, who taught these life values to her family, who continue to live by them.

Millie is survived by her children, Mark Rothamer, Marilyn (Jim) Bondehagen and Mary (Ed) Hookham, all of Janesville, Marjean (Jeff) Norder of Milton and Margaret “Peg” (Dave) Schwartz of Platte City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Elaine Bartelt and Dorothy (Ed) Kraemer, all of Medford; her brothers, Alvin (Geri) Frahmann and Richard Frahmann, all of Medford; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Millie was predeceased by her grandson, Nathan Rothamer; great-granddaughter, Kelsey Rothamer; and her siblings, Raymond Frahmann and Marjorie Jochimson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at the Whitcomb–Lynch Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials would be greatly appreciated if they were made in Millie’s name to Agrace HospiceCare.
