After her husband's passing, Judy remarried Bill Savage of Medford in 1971. They lived in California for a few years before returning to Wisconsin. Bill died in 1997.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. Towards the end of her life Judy moved into the Waterford Assisted Living in Colby. She died surrounded by her family on June 2, 2018, just shy of her 95th birthday.
