Heidmann, Ronald “Toby” R. (9 JAN 1942 - 13 MAR 2018)

Ronald “Toby” R. Heidmann of Edgar died surrounded by his family on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at the age of 76. Ronald was born January 9, 1942 to the late Frederick and Ann (Kania) Heidmann in the Town of Halsey.

He married Virginia “Jeannie” Schueller on June 17, 1961 at St. John Catholic Church in Edgar.

Toby loved to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing and viewing all of nature from inside his truck at a “pace of his own”. Through the years he enjoyed playing multiple sports, including basketball, softball, shooting pool and horseshoes. He enjoyed watching his children play sports. He had a love for music including playing the drums in local bands and also his passion for Elvis Presley. He met his wife in high school and proposed to her on the way to a basketball game in December of 1960. For 40 years, he worked at Wausau Insurance Co. as a computer analyst.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Jeannie” Heidmann of Edgar. Children, James (Sonia) Heidmann, Roxanne (Michael) Pospyhalla, Patrick (Sara) Heidmann, all of Edgar, Keith (Kim) Heidmann of Merrill, Kayanne (Bart) Lehman of Edgar, Wade (DeAnna) Heidmann of Whitefish Bay, Antoinette (Terry) Lepak, Julie (DJ) Frahm both of Edgar and sister, Sandra (Clarence) Durr; Sister-in-law, Nancy Heidmann; 23 Grandchildren: Emmanuel (Dawn) Pospyhalla, Cody (Heidi) Heidmann, David III (Katlyn) Frahm, Cassandra (Mitchel) Baeseman, Gabriel (Denise) Pospyhalla, Dylan (Aleena) Lepak, Hannah (Justyn) Karlen, Meghan (Christian) Untiedt, 2nd Lt Dakota (Cassie) Heidmann, Dalton (Taylor Weister) Lehman, Chelsea (Ryan) King, Kaitlin (Brandon Wirkus) Lepak, Jena (Jason Hoppe) Heidmann, Elizabeth (Luke Nowak) Pospyhalla, Zachary (Katie) Pospyhalla, LCpl Camden Heidmann, Wylie (Chelsea Bauman) Frahm, Miranda (Blake) Lehman, Dana (Matt Urmanski) Heidmann, Emily (Mason Guralski) Lepak, Allisyn (Matt Hoyt) Lehman, Caleb Heidmann. 20 Great-Grandchildren.

Toby was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Ann (Kania) Heidmann, his brother Fredrick Heidmann, grandson, Sammuel “Sammy Strong” Pospyhalla, Father-in-law, Louis Schueller, Mother-in- law, Clara (Braun) Schueller.

Thank You to all who cared for Toby at the ICU and Palliative Care at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 17, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Thomas Huff will preside. Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Private burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Edgar. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of the arrangements.
