Victoria (Kozub) Schultz, age 96, passed away on Dec. 31, 2017 at Homestead Living Care Center in Waunakee.

Vicky will be remembered for her sweet smile and kindness. She was born on May 12, 1921 on the family farm near Hawkins. She was the seventh of eight children born to Frank and Victoria Kozub and was the first of her siblings to graduate from Hawkins High School. She moved to Milwaukee and worked in both chocolate and hosiery factories.

During World War II, Vicky enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps (WACs) in 1945 and served as a U.S. Army Medical Technician at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colo.

Vicky married Grant Schultz of Glenwood City. They purchased a farm near Wilson in 1950 and built it into a large poultry farm operation. They moved to Pueblo West, Colo., in 1971 where Vicky enjoyed an active retirement being involved with St. Paul the Apostle Church, Daughters of Isabella and VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Vicky loved the sunny climate of Colorado and enjoyed gardening, golfing, sewing and traveling. She was an avid bridge, pinochle, and 500 card player. She returned to Wisconsin in 2001.

Vicky is survived by her son, Jon (Suzanne) Schultz; her daughters, Jacalyn Schultz (Roger Bindl), Paula Schultz (David Hillman) and Rebecca (Kim) Harrington; her grandchildren, Ron, Eric, Yelana, John, Peter, Svetlana, Alexandra and Evgenia; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Georgia Erickson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant; her parents; her siblings, Leo (Claria) Kozub, Antonie (Bill) Stunkel, Alfred (Leona) Kozub, Elizabeth (Max) Platka, Henry (Evelyn) Kozub, John Kozub and Elgin Erickson; and 14 in-laws.
