Dimmer, Dallas E. (12 DEC 1920 – 9 FEB 1971)

Dallas E. Dimmer, a resident of 113 5th Avenue, Stanley (Chippewa Co., Wis.), died at his home febrr
9, 1971 at 3:30 p.m.

He was born in Denmark, Wisconsin, December 12, 1920, son of Joseph and Carol Dimmer. He graduated from Denmark High School in 1939 and came to Stanley and worked for the Chippewa Cheese Company until 1941, when he joined the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. He was discharged in 1946 as a First Lieutenant. He received a Battlefield Commission when serving during World War II in France, and after he left the service he came to Stanley and worked for the Chippewa Cheese Company from 1946-57. Then he was Dairy Inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1957-66, and then postmaster from 1966 in Stanley, until the present time. He was married to Janice Solie in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanley. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanley, and for a number of years was Sunday School Superintendent, a member of the Stanley American Legion, and present Commander of the Stanley Post, and Commercial Club.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, at home; two sons, Mark of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Kurt at home; his father, Joseph, of Denmark, Wisconsin; one brother, Phillip, of Cedar burg, Wisconsin ; and one sister, Mrs. William (LaVern) Schleis of Reedsville, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his mother.
