Jahr, Anita Kay (Marriage – 5 October 1974)

A home on Rt. 1 Granton awaited Mr. and Mrs. Timothy John Moltzen upon their return from a week’s wedding trip to the Ozarks. The newlyweds exchanged marriage vows Saturday, October 5, in a 7 p.m. ceremony performed at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Chili, by the Rev. Henry Bahrenburg, Jr. A reception followed in the church parlors.

The bride, the former Miss Anita Kay Jahr, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jahr, Rt. 1 Granton. Her husband is the son of Harold Moltzen, Granton.

The former Miss Jahr carried a cascade arrangement of multi-sized white carnations, and baby’s breath as she was presented in marriage by her father. A long, lace-edged mantilla veil framed her traditional style lace gown fashioned with a natural waistline, Sabrina neckline, long, Camelot sleeves, and bouffant skirt of ruffled skirt of ruffled lace tiers with princess panel front.

Miss Audrey Jahr, Wausau, the maid-of-honor, and Miss Joann Hiles, Marshfield, the bridesmaid, appeared in gold high-waistline, puffed-sleeve gowns, and carried gold and white bouquets.

The groom was attended by Larry Woyach, Marengo, Il., as bestman, and Wayne Jahr, Granton, as groomsman. Guests were seated, by William Montgomery, Granton, and Lyle Kayhart, Chili.

Debbie Foemmel was the organist.

The bride was honored at a prenuptial shower given by Mrs. Carl Montgomery, Granton, and an Old Mid party hostessed by Mrs. William Nickel, Chili. A rehearsal dinner was held at the Jahr home.

The new Mrs. Moltzen graduated from Granton High School with the class of 1971, and from Shirley’s School of Cosmetology, Eau Claire, with the class of 1972. She is employed at a Loyal beauty salon. Her husband is a graduate of Marengo (Illinois) High School, and is a partner in Moltzen Farms, Inc., Granton.
