Steen, Bengt Christinius (18 SEP 1934 - 31 OCT 2017)

Bengt Christinius Steen, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at Ladysmith Care and Rehab. He had been a resident there for some years.

Ben was born in Norway on Sept. 18, 1934 to Reinert and Anna Steen. At age 17, he was sponsored to immigrate to the U.S., where he settled in the Minneapolis, Minn. area. There, he stayed with his aunt and uncle until he was able to get a job and eventually met his wife-to-be, Dorothy Johnson. They were married and continued to live in New Brighton, Minn. until her death in 1999.

In 2009, Ben moved to Ladysmith to be closer to extended family. He was a resident at Care Partners and Ladysmith Care and Rehab until the time of his death.

Ben is survived by his siblings in Norway, two brothers, Dag and Frode and two sisters, Anna and Else. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reinert and Anna; his wife, Dorothy; and his brother, Arild (Faye) Steen.

Ben’s family would like to thank all past and present staff of Care Partners and Ladysmith Care and Rehab for their care over the last few years.

Private interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis, Minn.
