Lisa Alice Johnson, 91, of Ladysmith, died on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 at Care Partners Assisted Living while surrounded by family and her minister, Pastor Craig Zandi.

Lisa was born on May 11, 1926 in Chicago, Ill. to John and Ingeborg Sahlin. Lisa and her family moved to Hawkins in 1931. She married Robert N. Johnson on Dec. 24, 1945, and they moved to Ladysmith in 1948.

Lisa was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ladysmith, where she enjoyed participating in many different activities, including quilting and Crafty Stitchers.

She worked at Kiddie Gym and Conwed for many years and had many happy memories of friendships made at both workplaces. In her free-time, she enjoyed gardening, baking, putting together puzzles, card-making, and reading.

She also loved spending time with her family, and will always be remembered for being a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Lisa is survived by her daughters, Dianna (Don) Josi of Ladysmith, Kathleen (Myron) Reeves of Ladysmith and Roberta (Joe) Baye of Ladysmith; her grandchildren, Lisa (Don) Gleason, Shawn Josi, Melissa (Keith) Holman, Sarah Baye and Steve Baye; her great-grandchildren, Kayla (Tyler) Nazarenus, Tyler Holman, Evan Holman and Lynnea Holman; and her great-great-grandchildren Svea Nazarenus and Dustyn Holman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers, Clarence and Nels Sahlin.

The family would like to thank the staff at Care Partners Assisted Living in Ladysmith for the loving care provided to Lisa and the kindness shown to her family. Thank you also to St. Croix Hospice for their care and assistance.

A Christian Funeral was held on Monday, Nov. 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.   Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith.
